About the Opportunity
We are recruiting on behalf of a global leader in energy technology, high-pressure reciprocating compression, and industrial valve solutions.
We are seeking a Mechanical Trades Supervisor to lead a dedicated crew of 2–4 Mechanical Fitters embedded on-site at major downstream oil & gas infrastructure (Ampol Lytton Refinery). This role combines frontline team leadership with precision mechanical overhaul execution on mission-critical rotating and static refinery assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and execute maintenance, overhauls, laser alignments, and component replacements on high-pressure reciprocating compressors, valves, and rotating equipment.
- Be the direct operational interface between site maintenance management and global OEM engineering specialists.
- Enforce strict site Permit to Work (PTW) systems, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), JMSAs, and zero-harm safety standards.
- Serve as the frontline technical link between client site operations and OEM engineering management.
- Directly supervise, mentor, and coordinate a small, agile team of 2–4 qualified Mechanical Fitters on shift.
About You
- Mechanical Trade Qualification (Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade or equivalent).
- Proven experience in refinery, petrochemical, or heavy oil & gas processing facilities.
- Prior experience in a Supervisory or Leading Hand role managing mechanical crews in high-hazard environments.
- Hands-on experience with reciprocating compressors, valve servicing, precision tolerances, and alignment.
- Thorough understanding of refinery PTW systems, hot work, and confined space controls.
